Contract Signed for Lot 3 of Line 1 Phase 1 of the Belgrade Metro – One of the Most Significant Contracts in the Project's Realization

Today, at the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Design and Build Contract for Lot 3 of Line 1 Phase 1 of the Belgrade Metro was signed. It is one of the most financially significant and scope-complex contracts in the implementation of this project so far, marking another major step forward in completing the first phase of Belgrade's first metro line. The contract encompasses the design and execution of the remaining civil works, as well as all activities necessary for the completion, equipping and commissioning of Line 1 Phase 1.

Belgrade Metro Enters a New Phase – TBMs Begin Their Journey to Serbia

Two Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs), commonly known as “moles,” which will construct the underground tunnels of the first line of the Belgrade Metro, are beginning their journey from China to Serbia. Following the successful completion of factory acceptance tests, the machines will undergo several weeks of transportation to Europe and subsequently to Belgrade, where they will be prepared to begin excavating approximately 11 kilometres of underground tunnels as part of Phase 1 of Line 1 of the Belgrade Metro.

The memorandum of understanding on the implementation of the system integration project for the construction of the first line of the Belgrade metro was signed today by the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Aleksandra Sofronijević, representatives of the "Belgrade Metro and Train" PUK, the Secretariat for Public Transport of the City of Belgrade and the Spanish company Ingerop T3 S.L.U.
