PUC “Belgrade Metro and Train” and the Railway Technical School in Belgrade have signed a Business and Technical Cooperation Agreement, establishing a long-term partnership aimed at linking education with the development and operational needs of the Belgrade Metro and modern rail transport systems.
The Agreement, signed by Acting Director of PUC “Belgrade Metro and Train”, Andreja Mladenović, and Principal of the Railway Technical School, Zlatko Radosavljević, aims to familiarize students with the Belgrade Metro project, its operations, and its importance. It also aims to introduce them to various professions and professional competencies that will be required for the development and operation of a modern metro system.
The cooperation will also focus on jointly assessing labour market needs, as well as exploring opportunities to introduce new educational profiles and improve existing ones relevant to the metro system. PUC ”Belgrade Metro and Train” will provide the school with expert insights into job roles, professions, and skills relevant to the future metro system, to the extent of its capacity, while the school will consider options for developing corresponding educational profiles.
Through this partnership, students will have the opportunity to complement their classroom knowledge with practical experience through expert lectures, presentations, workshops, panel discussions, and study visits. Plans also include student visits to company premises, metro stations, construction sites, and other locations once safety and technical conditions are met. Students will have the chance to explore various professions and roles necessary for operating the metro system, along with pathways for further education and professional development.

That is why it is vital for us to start connecting education today with the future needs of the metro system. Through our cooperation with the Railway Technical School, we want to introduce students to the Belgrade Metro project, modern technologies, and professions that will be part of this system, while jointly considering how to further adapt educational profiles to future demands. In this way, we are investing in the knowledge and expertise of young people while laying the foundation for the workforce that will drive the development and operation of the Belgrade Metro in the future,” stated Acting Director of PUC “Belgrade Metro and Train”, Andreja Mladenović.
The collaboration will also cover joint activities in professional orientation, organizing competitions, projects, and presentations, as well as involving students in educational and promotional initiatives. A key goal is to encourage student interest in educational tracks related to transport, electrical engineering, and other related fields, while fostering their professional, technical, and digital competencies.

This agreement marks an important step toward strengthening the connection between education and the development of the Belgrade Metro, paving the way for future generations of students to gain early exposure to the technologies, careers, and opportunities offered by modern rail systems.
The agreement has been concluded for an indefinite period, providing a framework for long-term cooperation in education, vocational training, career guidance, promotion of the metro system, and the development of personnel required for a modern public transport network.
