The Public Utility Company "Beogradski metro i voz" and the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Kosovska Mitrovica of the University of Priština, temporarily headquartered in Kosovska Mitrovica, have signed a Cooperation Agreement aimed at establishing a long-term partnership in the fields of education, science, innovation, and technological development.

The agreement was signed by the Acting Director of PUC "Beogradski metro i voz," Andreja Mladenović, and the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Zoran Golubović, in the presence of the Rector of the University of Priština, temporarily headquartered in Kosovska Mitrovica, Prof. Dr. Nebojša Arsić.

The cooperation will focus on linking higher education and the economy through joint activities within the Belgrade Metro construction project, with a specific emphasis on involving students, professors, teaching assistants, and researchers in scientific research, development, and innovation projects.

The planned activities include student internships, guest lectures, the organization of joint events, the development of educational programs, as well as collaboration on research and development projects and analyses vital to the development of the metro system. A special segment of this cooperation involves upgrading the scientific research infrastructure and expanding academic programs by introducing metro system-related topics into master's and doctoral studies.

The Acting Director of PUC "Beogradski metro i voz," Andreja Mladenović, emphasized that this cooperation represents an important step in connecting the academic community with major infrastructure projects of national importance. He added that it gives him great pleasure to establish a partnership that will bring young professionals and significant infrastructure projects together.

"The construction of the Belgrade Metro is not only the largest transport infrastructure project in Serbia but also an opportunity for us as a society to demonstrate how vital knowledge, science, and young experts are for the future of our country. This is precisely why cooperation with the Faculty of Technical Sciences of the University of Priština, temporarily headquartered in Kosovska Mitrovica, is of great importance to us. We want to provide students and young engineers with direct contact with modern technologies, complex infrastructure systems, and the concrete challenges that come with the execution of a project like this," Mladenović said.

He added that through various cooperation programs, students will have the opportunity to gain practical knowledge and experience that will be invaluable for their further professional development.

"Our goal is to create a space where theoretical knowledge and practical application meet, but also to encourage young people to build their future in Serbia by working on projects that change the appearance and functioning of an entire city. In the coming decades, the Belgrade Metro will be one of the most important infrastructure systems in Serbia, which is why it is essential for domestic experts, professors, researchers, and students to participate in its development," Mladenović emphasized.

The Rector, Prof. Dr. Nebojša Arsić, pointed out that this cooperation represents a significant opportunity for students and teaching staff, as it will allow them to acquire invaluable knowledge and experience through hands-on work and direct participation in one of the country's most important infrastructure projects.

"It is particularly important that students will have the opportunity to link theoretical knowledge with practical application, which will contribute to their professional development and leave them better prepared for their future careers," Arsić stated.

The Dean of the Faculty of Technical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Zoran Golubović, highlighted that the signing of the Cooperation Agreement is an important step in strengthening ties between academia and the business sector.

"Today's visit and the signing of the Cooperation Agreement mark an important step in strengthening the ties between the academic community and the economy. We believe that cooperation with PUC 'Beogradski metro i voz' will contribute to the exchange of knowledge and experience, facilitate joint activities of mutual importance, and open up new opportunities for our students' professional training and career development," Golubović said.

The signatories emphasized that this agreement represents a major step toward reinforcing the connection between the academic community and the business sector, while also contributing to workforce development and modern technological solutions in the field of transport infrastructure.
