An Agreement on Business-Technical Cooperation has been signed between the PUC "Belgrade Metro and Train" and the company Data Cloud Technology from Kragujevac, with the aim of establishing long-term cooperation in the areas of knowledge exchange, professional development and the advancement of information technologies.
The agreement was signed by the Acting Director of PUC “Belgrade Metro and Train”, Andreja Mladenović, and the Director of Data Cloud Technology, Danilo Savić, in the presence of the Secretary for Public Transport, Slaven Andrić and the Director of the Office for Information Technology and eGovernment, Dr. Mihailo Jovanović.
The agreement establishes a framework for long-term business and technical cooperation aimed at exchanging professional expertise and experience, enhancing technical capacities and applying modern information technologies in business operations. The cooperation will encompass professional consultations, employee training and joint development activities of mutual interest.
A particular significance of this collaboration lies in the improvement of information systems, the strengthening of information security and more efficient data management, which represents an important segment in modernizing business operations and developing the company's technical and organizational capacities.
Speaking about the significance of signing the Agreement, the Acting Director of PUC “Belgrade Metro and Train”, Andreja Mladenović, emphasized that cooperation with technology partners represents an important step toward further strengthening the company's technical and professional capacities, especially in the fields of digitalization and information security.
“It gives me great pleasure that today, by signing the Agreement on Business-Technical Cooperation with Data Cloud Technology, we are taking another important step in developing the technical and digital capacities necessary for the implementation of the largest infrastructure project in our country – the construction of the Belgrade Metro.
Our cooperation, which successfully began back in 2024, represents much more than a technical partnership. It is the result of a strategic commitment to providing a project of national importance with the highest standards of information security, reliable data management and long-term technological stability.
In cooperation with the Office for Information Technology and eGovernment, we recognized the importance of establishing a secure and reliable digital environment for a project of this scale. The construction of the Belgrade Metro involves working with a large volume of technical documentation, engineering models and other data that represent a vital resource not only during construction but also in the future operation of the metro system.
That is why in 2024, with the support of the Office for Information Technology and eGovernment, we decided to entrust the resources for our advanced 3DEXPERIENCE platform – which enables the management of the entire project lifecycle – to Data Cloud Technology, relying on the capabilities of the State Data Center in Kragujevac.
Today, we are taking a step further by transitioning to the advanced 3DEXPERIENCE Cloud model, which will allow for greater flexibility, more efficient information exchange and higher-quality collaboration between our team and international engineering teams. At the same time, we place special emphasis on data protection and ensuring business continuity.
That is precisely why, alongside this Agreement, the conclusion of a separate commercial contract is envisioned to regulate in detail the backup storage of key data and models in the State Data Center. In this way, we connect modern technological solutions with reliable domestic infrastructure, providing an additional level of security for data of exceptional importance for the realization of the project.
This cooperation contributes to technological stability, more efficient project management, and the creation of prerequisites for developing a modern and functional metro system. I thank the team at Data Cloud Technology for their professionalism and dedication, as well as the Office for Information Technology and eGovernment for their support. I am confident that through our joint work, we will continue to improve digital capacities and build strong foundations for the future of public transport in Belgrade”, Mladenović highlighted.
The agreement stipulates that Data Cloud Technology will, in accordance with its capacities and the company's needs, provide advisory and expert support in areas of mutual interest, organize training sessions and enable knowledge sharing through joint projects. Support is also envisioned in the implementation of cloud technologies, data governance and the enhancement of information security.
On the other hand, PUC “Belgrade Metro and Train” will contribute through the participation of its experts and the exchange of experience to the implementation of joint activities, professional advancement and the development of solutions tailored to the needs of both parties.
Speaking about the importance of the collaboration, the Director of Data Cloud Technology, Danilo Savić, noted that the State Data Center represents a pioneering project of national significance, recognized across Europe, which has been operating successfully for over five and a half years with high standards of reliability and security.
“Today, data is one of the most important resources, and the State Data Center represents a secure environment for its storage. This is confirmed by the trust of domestic companies, as well as leading global technology corporations.
I am particularly pleased that this cooperation with PUC “Belgrade Metro and Train” opens a new chapter in the development of one of the most significant infrastructure projects in Serbia. The Belgrade Metro will be a modern and technologically advanced system that will bring long-term benefits to citizens and the state.
The application of modern technologies, such as BIM methodology and artificial intelligence, plays an important role in more efficient planning, management and implementation of complex infrastructure projects. We are convinced that bringing together professional expertise, modern tech solutions, and secure digital infrastructure will contribute to the successful execution of this project.
Partnerships and projects like this represent a valuable legacy for future generations and contribute to Serbia's further technological and infrastructural development”, Savić pointed out.
Commenting on the significance of the Agreement, the Director of the Office for Information Technology and eGovernment, Dr. Mihailo Jovanović, emphasized that this cooperation connects the State Data Center and PUC “Belgrade Metro and Train” as two vital technological systems in Serbia.
“The State Data Center in Kragujevac holds a Class 4 certificate – the highest class in terms of reliability and security – and today it hosts around 600 different public administration information systems, as well as data from commercial users and major global companies. I am especially glad that the Belgrade Metro and Train data will be stored right here in the State Data Center and that the routes, stations, tunnels, depots, complete documentation and metro construction will be tracked through the BIM model. In this way, important data and knowledge remain preserved in our country”, said Jovanović.
He added that this cooperation opens up space for creating a joint center of knowledge, which would combine the experience of the State Data Center and the expertise gained during the construction of the Belgrade Metro, creating regional-level expertise that could be transferred to other countries in the future.
By concluding this Agreement, PUC “Belgrade Metro and Train” continues to expand its cooperation with expert and technological partners to improve business processes, strengthen information systems and build sustainable technical capacities necessary for successful business operations and the execution of the Belgrade Metro project.
