The company is responsible for organizing and implementing professional, technical and operational work related to the planning, construction, reconstruction, maintenance and protection of metro infrastructure. As part of its activities, the Company manages the organization of traffic in the metro system, provides procurement, maintenance and overhaul of rolling stock, as well as organization of work and maintenance of metro stations.
One of the key segments of the work is related to strategic planning and development of high-capacity rail systems - metro and urban railway (BG: train). These activities include development plans, proposals for new lines and stations, improvement of existing capacities, as well as harmonization and integration with other forms of public transport in order to create a functional and sustainable transport system.
The company actively participates in the preparation and drafting of legal and by-laws in the field of rail traffic, carries out expert supervision over the implementation of projects, and performs tasks related to the management of property, land and business premises in the phases of construction and exploitation of the system.
In order to improve the city railway (BG:voz), PUC "Belgrade metro and train" achieves coordination in planning the development of the system, as well as in the procurement and overhaul procedures of rolling stock.
With its work, the Company contributes to the establishment of a modern, safe and efficient public transport system, in accordance with the development priorities and strategic goals of the City of Belgrade.
