On the part of the railway line between the Beograd Centar and Stara Pazova stations, since July 25, 2018, works have been carried out on the reconstruction of existing and the construction of new infrastructure capacities, which significantly affect the way train service is organized and regulated.
During the reconstruction and modernization of the section Beograd Centar – Stara Pazova, new stops were built for the needs of urban - suburban traffic:
- Altina stop, which is located between Zemun and Zemunsko polje stations,
- Kamendin stop, which is located between Zemunsko polje and Batajnica stations,
- the Tošin Bunar stop was moved to a new location, that is, about 200 meters before the existing one, in order to increase the safety of passengers.
Works on the buildings have been completed, namely:
• a new station building was built in Zemun and Batajnica stations,
• the existing station building in the Zemunsko polje station was reconstructed and renovated,
• existing platforms were renovated and reconstructed and new platforms were built with appropriate connections, equipment and facilities.
The renovation or reconstruction of the existing and the construction of new platforms and platform-related facilities has been completed, which includes the following:
• in all stations and stops, along the tracks intended for the reception and dispatch of trains for the transport of passengers, platforms with underpasses have been designed,
• typical canopies are built on the platforms,
• in order to control access, barriers were placed on the platforms in all stops and stations in the area of the Belgrade railway junction,
• in accordance with the requirements for ensuring accessibility for persons with physical disability, ramps were designed in stops and stations, while elevators were designed in Zemun, Zemunsko polje, Batajnica stations. Novi Beograd as well as at the Tošin Bunar stop.
All stations and stops are equipped with equipment providing information and directing the movement of passengers.
The Beograd Centar – Novi Sad railway was opened to traffic in March 2022.
