For the purposes of developing the conceptual project of the first phase of the Belgrade metro line 1, an Elaborate on the engineering, geological and geotechnical construction conditions was prepared. The above report shows the results of the research based on the data obtained from laboratory tests of samples and field tests from exploratory wells that were made along the route at a distance of 150 to 200 m. Between individual exploratory wells conducted between Bele vode stations and Pančevački most, at approximately 40% of the locations, there is a difference in the lithological composition of the soil, as well as the fault zone. It is not known exactly where they are located and how the contacts of the lithological layers are oriented. The mentioned data are of extreme importance for the construction of the tunnel section with a tunnel boring machine (Tunnel Boring Machine - TBM), so that it can timely apply the appropriate pressure to the face of the excavation and thus not cause ground breaking and uncontrolled subsidence that can threaten the stability of buildings and engineering structures. For the aforementioned reasons, control geological surveys will be carried out and an Elaborate will be drawn up that will determine more precisely the position and orientation of the contacts of lithological layers in fault zones, the condition and properties of the terrain and rock masses, as well as the conditions created in the terrain that will be realized during the realization of the metro system, and based on which the geotechnical conditions and recommendations for the construction of the future metro line will be defined. The preparation of the Elaborate is based on the existing engineering-geological and geotechnical documentation, the results of which will be supplemented by the results of new control surveys.
