During the development of the Conceptual Project and the Justification Study with the Environmental Impact Assessment Study for Line 1 of the Belgrade Metro - Phase 2, a technical-economic analysis proved that the section from para. The Pančevački bridge (exclusively) until the end of the first phase of line 1, in the length of 1.2 km, should be built like the other parts of line 1 using the "TVM" machine (Tunnel Boring Machine), instead of the "Cut&Cover" construction technology proposed by the General Project. For the above reasons, field investigations are needed, as well as laboratory geomechanical tests of soil and rocks. The goal is to define the condition and properties of the terrain and rock masses, and on the basis of which the geotechnical conditions and recommendations for the construction of the future metro line will be defined for the Conceptual Project level.
