Two important documents confirming the successful continuation of cooperation with the French company RATP DEV on the construction project of the Belgrade metro were signed today in Belgrade.
By signing the annex to the Memorandum of Understanding and the Agreement on early operator assistance services, strategic cooperation with one of the world's leading public transport operators was additionally strengthened. The document was signed on behalf of the City of Belgrade by Andreja Mladenović, director of the Belgrade Metro and Train PUC, and Radovan Kremić, secretary of the Secretariat for Public Transport, with Jean-Luc Shapoton, RATP DEV director of international development, and David Menge, project director for Serbia.
RATP DEV, as a renowned company with rich experience in managing public transport both in Paris and around the world, will continue to provide professional support in the process of development, design and preparation for the operation of the Belgrade metro. The signed documents define the continuation of engagement in the optimization of the infrastructure, training and employment of personnel, setting up operational procedures, testing the system and preparing for its commissioning.
The director of the Belgrade Metro and Train PUC, Andreja Mladenović, emphasized the importance of this cooperation: "The Belgrade metro construction project is one of the most important infrastructure projects in Serbia. The support of renowned international partners, such as RATP DEV, is extremely important for its successful implementation. We will use their rich experience to ensure the efficiency and sustainability of the metro system in our capital."
In front of RATP DEV, Director of International Development Jean-Luc Chapoton particularly emphasized the expansion of the company's activities: "RATP DEV is entering new markets and recently became the operator of the metro system in Lyon, the second largest in France, as well as Line 15 in Paris. In addition, we became the first foreign operator to operate a metro line in Singapore, which is a great success and an indicator of the quality of our services."
David Menge, director of the early operator assistance project, emphasized the company's commitment to the development of the Belgrade metro: "With experience in managing public transport in 14 countries and more than 1.5 billion passengers per year, we continue to transfer knowledge and best practices to make the Belgrade metro modern, efficient and adapted to the needs of citizens. We are proud to participate in this great project."
The continuation of cooperation with this French company represents another significant step towards the construction of a modern and functional metro system in Belgrade, which will contribute to better connectivity, faster traffic flow and the overall improvement of public transport in the Serbian capital.
