The delegation of PUC "Belgrade metro and train" Belgrade, led by director Andrej Mladenović, participated in the prestigious world summit organized by the International Association for Public Transport (UITP), which was held in Hamburg from June 16 to 18 this year.
During the three-day working visit, the delegation had the opportunity to attend a series of presentations and panels within the UITP Summit, which represents one of the most important international events dedicated to innovation and the future of public transport. The topics of digitalization of railway traffic, advanced BIM solutions and sustainable management models of large infrastructure projects were in focus.
The tour of the exhibition space and meetings with numerous participants and partners were also significant, among which the visit to the stand of RATP DEV, a renowned French company in charge of early operator support within the Belgrade metro construction project, stands out. On that occasion, a meeting was held with the management of the company, led by general director Hiba Fares, with a cordial conversation about the continuation of cooperation and preparations for the future operational phases of the project.
Special attention was paid to the exchange of experiences with partners from Deutsche Bahn, including a visit to the Innovation Train, a tour of the S-Bahn control center in Hamburg, as well as the construction site of the new S4 line and the S-Bahn Depot for train maintenance in Ohlsdorf. Numerous experts in the field of project management, integration of BIM models and digital technologies, and maintenance of railway infrastructure transferred their knowledge and experience to the delegation. The hosts in front of Deutsche Bahn during this part of the visit were led by Ivan Ilić, director of the branch for Serbia and Michael Algrim, executive director for Europe and Central Asia. The consortium consisting of the German company Deutsche Bahn and the French Sistra represents the project team for support in the management of the construction of the first line of the Belgrade metro, so in addition to Deutsche Bahn, the director of the Sistra branch for Serbia, Saša Zlatković, and the project leader, Gerard Obyrne, participated in the program of this visit.
Participation in such a gathering represents an important step in the international affirmation of the Belgrade metro construction project and the strengthening of professional ties with renowned European partners. The summit was also an opportunity to present the plans, standards and ambitions that Belgrade has in the field of sustainable urban transport to the international professional public.
PUC "Belgrade Metro and Train" Belgrade continues to actively participate in expert forums at the European and global level, with the aim of ensuring the application of best practices in the implementation of one of the most significant infrastructure projects in the history of the Serbian capital.
