As part of a two-day study visit to Belgrade, Sean Sweeney and Michael Flynn from the management of MetroLink from Dublin, Ireland, stayed on April 7 and 8 in the organization of the "Belgrade Metro and Train" PUC, with the aim of exchanging experiences related to the design and construction of the metro system.
Given that the Irish metro project is in the early stages of preparation, this visit was a significant opportunity for the delegation to learn about the steps that Belgrade has already taken in the implementation of the first line of the Belgrade metro.
The delegation was received at the headquarters of our company by director Andreja Mladenović, executive director for electro-mechanical affairs Dejan Vejnović, executive director for infrastructure Milonja Milanović and director of the metro construction project management team Džerard Obyrne. Through thematic presentations and meetings, guests were informed about construction phases, financial and regulatory aspects, contracting modalities, as well as technical and operational solutions applied within the project. A special segment was dedicated to communication activities and informing the public.
During the tour of the depot on Makiša, colleagues from the Directorate for Building Land and Construction of Belgrade presented the development plans of the depot complex, the works carried out so far, as well as advanced visualizations and 3D renderings of the project.
The guests from Dublin expressed great satisfaction with the content and organization of the visit. They pointed out that their stay in Belgrade provided them with valuable insight and expertise for the continuation of the implementation of their metro project, with a mutual desire for continued cooperation. This was also their first visit to Belgrade and Serbia, and the diverse and carefully prepared program left a positive impression on the Irish delegation.
